Former President and Chief Executive Officer of the Ford Motor Company Alan Mulally was recently featured as a keynote speaker for the 2017 Material Handling & Logistics Conference that happened on September 10-13 in Park City, Utah. CEO of Dematic North America, Scott Watts, have expressed how thrilled they were to host Mulally for this event as it was a quite a treat for the participants at the event. The business executive shared a lot of his insights into innovation, taking risks, and maximizing the value of people and technology. Overall it was a fantastic conference, and Mulally was very well received for his words of wisdom. His ideas for success are ones that will be remembered for a long time and he will no doubt be invited back to future speaking events.
The Oakland-born business guru actually grew up in Lawrence, Kansas, the same town that his mother was from. He graduated from the University of Kansas where he earned both a Bachelor of Science in 1968 and a Master of Science in 1969. Right after college, Mulally was hired immediately by Boeing, and he stayed with the company until 2006 when he was named the President and CEO of Ford Motor Company. During his time at Ford, Mulally took over “The Way Forward” restructuring plan and turned it around to be successful. In 2011, he was named Person of the Year by the Financial Times ArcelorMittal Boldness in Business Awards. In addition to that, he was named the CEO of the Year by Chief Executive magazine in the same year. In 2014, he joined the Board of Directors of Google and then eventually became a senior fellow at Seattle University’s Albers School of Business.
Mulally was the keynote speaker for this year’s 2017 Material Handling & Logistics Conference that took place earlier this month in Park City, Utah. It was a very informative and inspirational event.
