Jermaine Dupri is a Grammy Award-winning rapper, composer, producer, businessman, author, DeeJay, the CEO of So So Def, and the maker of JDs Vegan Ice Cream. He is also highly skilled. Bounce It, a song by LaTheGOAT featuring Big Freedia, was released near the end of 2021. Dupri, whose father was a Columbia Records executive, was born in Asheville, North Carolina, and reared in Atlanta. He grew up surrounded by music and production. Before he became 10 years old, he performed on stage with Diana Ross, which launched his own singing career. He persisted in his dancing career and, at the age of 12, joined the Hip-Hop group Whodini. He shared the stage with artists like Herbie Hancock, Cameo, Run DMC, and Grandmaster Flash while performing around the nation. He founded the adolescent pair Kris Kross after producing his first group, the female Hip Hop trio Silk Tymes Leather, in 1990. Since then, he has worked with a wide range of incredible and award-winning artists, such as Xscape, Da Brat, Mariah Carey, Lil Kim, Usher, Monica, Destiny's Child, Tamar Braxton, Dem Franchize Boyz, and Daz Dillinger, producing, discovering, and writing for them. He and Queen Latifah started the reality TV show The Rap Game in 2015, and he was elected into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2018.
