As a former White House press secretary and now a Hollywood executive, Dee Dee Myers has seen inside two different worlds that fascinate many. She was able to share stories about both distinct parts of her career as the keynote speaker at the Women in Business Legislative & Awards Luncheon.
With her treasure trove of professional accomplishments, Myers was the perfect guest at an event honoring other successful women from the South Pasadena area. The luncheon was actually held at the Castaway in Burbank, California.
Innovation, creativity and entrepreneurship were three topics that Myers and other speakers focused on. California State Senator Anthony Portantino was the other major presenter.
Myers was the first woman to ever be White House press secretary when she served in the role during President Bill Clinton's first term. After she departed the West Wing, she worked as a political analyst and as a contributing editor for Vanity Fair.
Myers went on to be a communications consultant and Managing Director of the Glover Park Group. She currently serves as Warner Bros. Executive Vice President for Worldwide Corporate Communications and Public Affairs.
Myers is the author of the New York Times bestseller, "Why Women Should Rule the World." She is on the board for The Smithsonian National Museum of American History and Wynn Resorts.
