Former Aspen Institute CEO Walter Isaacson is one of the prominent people involved in modern media. He will join an illustrious list of former speakers as the headline guest at Lipscomb University's 2019 Imagine event on April 15.
It serves as Lipscomb's largest donor event and is invite-only. Isaacson's work on leadership innovation was the primary reason he was selected to speak.
Previous featured speakers have included President George W. Bush, Basketball Hall of Famer Magic Johnson and broadcaster Tom Brokaw. Students will also have an opportunity to hear Isaacson speak at a separate event.
Isaacson currently serves as a Professor of History at Tulane University, a Distinguished Fellow at The Aspen Institute and an advisory partner at the financial services firm, Perella Weinberg. He has had high-profile posts like the chairman of CNN and editor of Time.
Isaacson began his Time career as a political correspondent in 1978. He is the author of several books, including ones profiling great innovators like Benjamin Franklin, Leonardo da Vinci, Albert Einstein and Steve Jobs.
Isaacson is still actively involved in media as the host of PBS and CNN's "Amanpour and Company." He is also a contributor to CNBC and hosts the "Trailblazers, from Dell Technologies" podcast.
