Innovation expert Vivek Wadhwa is one of America's most prominent intellectuals and futurists. He will have unique insights to share when he serves as keynote speaker at the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation Conference.
The 6th annual event takes place January 30-February 1 at the Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. It is designed to bring medical professionals from around the country together to work on ways to cure bile duct cancer.
They anticipate over 550 people attending this year's conference. Through a release, Wadhwa was able to give a preview of what his presentation will focus on.
"Not long ago, rare cancers such as Cholangiocarcinoma were considered incurable. But thanks to the exponential advances in artificial intelligence, genomics, sensors, and synthetic biology the impossible is now becoming possible. We will make more progress over the next five years than we have made in the previous fifty; we will be able to cure almost any disease and live longer and healthier lives," said Wadhwa.
Wadhwa is as Distinguished Fellow at both Carnegie Mellon's School of Engineering at Silicon Valley and Harvard Law School. He has also taught at Duke University, Stanford Law School, Emory University and Singularity University.
Wadhwa has authored several prominent books and been an internationally-syndicated columnist for The Washington Post. He researches topics like robotics, AI, 3D printing and medicine.
The U.S. Government named Wadhwa an "Outstanding American By Choice" in 2012. He has also been designated as one of the "Top 100 Global Thinkers" by Foreign Policy Magazine and named to Time's "Tech 40" list.
