A consummate tennis pro who was just named one of Forbes magazine's "Most Powerful Women in Sports" Stacey Allaster has held nearly every position in the tennis world: from junior to collegiate player; to Tournament Director in Toronto; to VP of Tennis Canada; to President, then Chairman and CEO of the world's leading professional sport for women, the WTA; and now to Chief Executive Professional Tennis with the USTA. With the USTA, Allaster is responsible for developing the strategic direction for the USTA's pro tennis business, which includes the US Open, the Emirates Airline US Open Series, and the Western & Southern Open, among other events. She also collaborates closely with the USTA board of directors and the present USTA pro tennis team to maintain the viability of professional tennis in the United States. Allaster's tenure as Chairman and CEO began in July 2009, and she was known for her focus on maximizing the fan experience through a series of on-court and digital innovations; securing a record number of new sponsors; ensuring the sport's financial success; and enhancing the athletes' health and well-being. Among her numerous successes, Allaster raised an estimated $1 billion for the organization during her time and was the main reason behind the WTA's growth into Asia. Allaster retired from this position in 2015.
