John Kufuor in full John Kofi Agyekum Kufuor (conceived Dec. 8, 1938, Kumasi Gold Coast [now Ghana]) Ghanian representative and lawmaker who filled in as leader of Ghana (2001–09). Kufuor was the seventh of 10 offspring of Nana Kwadwo Agyekum an Asante regal and Nana Ama Dapaah a sovereign mother. Kufuor was taught at Prempeh College in Kumasi and in Great Britain. He was called to the bar in 1961 at Lincoln's Inn London and afterward learned at the University of Oxford wherein 1964 he earned a graduate degree in reasoning governmental issues and financial matters. In the wake of finishing his instruction Kufuor came back to Ghana and propelled his political vocation. In 1967 he turned into a boss legitimate official and town representative for the city of Kumasi. By 1969 he was an individual from Parliament and agent remote priest in the administration of Kofi Busia. After Busia was ousted in 1972 Kufuor went through quite a long while as a businessperson in the private area.
