About Scott Niedermyer
Scott Niedermyer Biography
Scott played four games (one assist) for the Devils that season as the team's youngest player before returning to junior for the remaining games. Scott became a full-time member of the Devils in 1992–1993 and was a defenseman on the NHL All–Rookie Team. With a +34 rating and finishing third on the Devils that season, Scott led the team to its first-ever 100-point campaign. However, the Devils battled through the final few games of the season to finish last in the Eastern Conference before losing to the Rangers, who would eventually win the Stanley Cup. In the shortened 1994–1995 campaign, Scott led the Devils with a +19 rating; in the last games of the year, he led all Devils defensemen with 11 focuses. In Game Two of the Devils' four-game series for the championship in 1995, Scott scored a great goal off a start-to-finish push. Although Scott drove the Devils' defense with 179 shots over the last games of the 1995–96 season, the Devils posted the league's tightest defense in 1996–97, winning the Eastern Conference and Atlantic Division regular season crowns with 104 goals. He used 18 deliberate tactical maneuvers that year to drive the Devils. Scott and the Devils once again allowed the fewest goals in the league in 1997–98, and they once more claimed the Eastern Conference and Atlantic Division season titles. The Devils set both franchise records with 48 victories and 107 goals. Scott led the Devils that season with 43 assists, 11 strategic maneuver goals, and 29 strategic maneuver focuses. That year, he played in his first mid-season All-Star Game, was named to the year's second team of All-Stars, and participated in the All-Star Game. As the Devils recorded their third straight season of 100 points (105) to win the Eastern Conference and Atlantic Division crowns, Scott led all defensive group players with 46 points.
