Robert Greenblatt Biography

Robert Greenblatt serves as Chairman of NBC Entertainment and reports directly to the CEO of NBCUniversal, Steve Burke. He oversees all aspects of primetime, late-night, scripted daytime programming, marketing, communications, scheduling, business affairs, West Coast research, and digital operations. He also leads Universal Television and Universal Stage Productions. Since joining NBC in 2011, Greenblatt has played a vital role in the network's rise to the top of the television industry, winning four consecutive November sweeps and two straight February sweeps, as well as the 2013-14 and 2014-15 seasons in primetime's key demographic of adults 18-49. In addition, under his leadership, NBC has produced highly successful live television events such as "The Sound of Music" and "The Wiz." Before NBC, Greenblatt served as President of Entertainment for Showtime Networks, where he oversaw a slate of original programming, including "Weeds," "Dexter," and "The Tudors." He has also been an award-winning producer of over a dozen series on various networks, including "Six Feet Under." As a Broadway producer, he won the 2014 Tony Award for best musical for "A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder." Greenblatt is a member of the Broadway League of Theatrical Producers, the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, and the Producers Guild of America. In 2011, he received the Stephen F. Kolzak Award from GLAAD.
