One of America's foremost political experts has been selected as a keynote speaker for a celebration honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Donna Brazile will talk about the steps we have made towards diversity when she addresses the crowd at USI MLK Memorial Luncheon.
The event takes place on January 21 at 11 a.m. in Carter Hall. Tickets are currently available online through USI or they can be purchased at the USI Multicultural Center.
The cost to attend is $5 for students, $10 for employees and $20 for the general public. Brazile has lectured at over 200 universities across the country. so her message should strike a chord with this audience.
Brazile has also been a pioneer for civil rights as the first African American woman to be a major party's presidential campaign manager. She is also the former Chair of the Democratic National Committee.
Leading up to her work for Al Gore during the 2000 presidential race, she also had previously guided the campaigns of Democratic candidates Jesse Jackson, Walter Mondale-Geraldine Ferraro and Dick Gephardt. She was an advisor on Bill Clinton's initial campaign for the presidency in 1992 and during his re-election in 1996.
