Members of the US Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association are going to get a jolt of leadership training at their upcoming convention. Leadership coach Todd Gongwer is serving as keynote speaker at the event.
The USTFCCCA Convention runs December 17-20 at the JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort & Spa. Gongwer will lead on his coaching background to inspire the room and share important insights on how they can motivate their teams.
Previous speakers at the conference have included NCAA President Mark Emmert, former NCAA President Myles Brand and Golden State Warriors President and Chief of Operations Rick Welts. There will be over 1,500 coaches in attendance.
Gongwer was an assistant college basketball coach for over a decade and was part of teams that won three NAIA II National Championships. He also has a background as a restaurateur and in real estate.
While coaching, Gongwer also led the leadership development transition of a major manufacturing company. Once merged, he served as Vice President of Leadership Development and HR for the new organization.
In 1998, Gongwer wrote The Need to Lead Business leadership development program to help his teams in sports and business. He is also the author of "LEAD...for God's Sake," which sold over 10,000 copies in its first year.
