American actor Zachary Knighton gained notoriety for playing Dave Rose in the ABC comedy series Happy Endings. He co-starred as Dr. Bryce Varley on the science fiction ABC series FlashForward prior to the series. His next appearance will be in the forthcoming FOX comedy, Weird Loners. Knighton was born in Alexandria, Virginia, and graduated from the Governor's School for the Arts and Frank W. Cox High School in Virginia Beach, Virginia, in 1996. Following that, he enrolled at Virginia Commonwealth University. He enjoys surfing and horror movies. He portrayed C. Thomas Howell in the original role of Sophia Bush in the horror movie remake The Hitcher from 2007. On the short-lived television series Life on a Stick, Knighton previously portrayed Laz Lackerson. On the TV show Related, he played Gary. As Bryce Varley in the science fiction series FlashForward, based on the Robert J. Sawyer novel, Knighton was cast in 2009. Knighton had first gone before John Cho for the part of Demetri Noh but was unsuccessful. The character of Bryce Varley was then revised for Knighton by the co-creator of the program, David S. Goyer. There was just one season of the show.
