A café and sandwich restaurant that debuted in the resort town of Bethel, Maine, in the middle of the 1990s was named after and inspired by the mystery series The Hardy Boys. After developing his skills in food presentation and preparation, Dan started a catering company and introduced The Hearty Boys to Chicago.
