Suzy held the 1500-meter US junior record and won three junior national championships while still in high school. She was inducted into the US National High School Sports Hall of Fame in 2010 after Scholastic Sports Magazine named her one of the top 100 high school athletes of the 20th century. Suzy earned nine NCAA Championships and 32 Big-Ten Championships at the University of Wisconsin. She received the Honda Cup and Babe Zaharias Awards as the nation's top female collegiate athlete.
