Stephen Poloz is a well-known economist who has worked in stock markets, predicting, and economic policy for nearly four decades, which include thirty-five years in government. He  was the ninth Captain of the Bank of Canada, Canada's central bank, before having joined Osler. Poloz served as Financial services authority for 7 years after working for years for the bank for fourteen years, from 1981 to 1995, in a variety of progressively higher positions.  He is also the writer of the latest novel The Next Age of Uncertainty: How the World Can Adapt to a Riskier Future, which outlines the important financial elements that influence our destiny as well as the concepts that will enable us to grasp them. He  spent fourteen years at Export Promotion Canada, first as Chief Economist (1999-2008), then as head remark of Lending (2008-2011), and eventually as President and Chief executive officer (2011-2013). He is an Accredited Global Trade Expert and a Senior Manager Program graduate of Columbia University.
