Sarah Borgman Biography

As the Director of Skoll Community and Convenings, Ms. Borgman has executive responsibility for the platforms that foster new approaches to entrepreneurship, the most pressing global issues, and the global portfolio of Skoll Awardees. The most significant forum for Skoll meetings is the Skoll World Forum, which is held annually in Oxford, England. Before joining Skoll, Ms. Borgman has more than 20 years of experience as an executive in marketing, communications, and events in the public, commercial, and governmental sectors. She was vice president of communications at the Prostate Cancer Foundation, the X Prize Foundation, and Porter Novelli. In addition, she has executive business and nonprofit experience before working as the Peace Corps' marketing director and the US Department of Education's National School-to-Work Office's press secretary during the Clinton administration. Ms. Borgman began her career with Senator John F. Kerry (D-MA). She served as a panelist on a national public affairs television program for three years and graduated with honors from Boston College in political science and international relations. She and her husband strive to keep up with her eight-year-old daughter and twin sons, who are four years old, in their spare time.
