Dr. Maya Rockeymoore is the founder and CEO of Global Policy Solutions, a strategic social change business located in Washington, DC that helps make policy work for people, communities, and the environment. She also founded GlobalPolicy.tv, a web-based public affairs platform that examines major problems in public policy, politics, and popular culture. Health, social insurance, financial security, education, women's problems, and youth civic involvement are among Maya's areas of competence. She is the head of the National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare's board of directors, as well as a member of the National Association of Counties' board of directors. Maya is also a member of the Social Insurance National Academy. Maya is the author of The Political Action Handbook: A How-To Guide for the Hip-Hop Generation and co-editor of Strengthening Community: Social Insurance in a Diverse America. She was named a Young Women to Watch by Running Start and was a Henry Crown Fellow at the Aspen Institute.
