Justin Wolfers is an Australian-American economist, public policy scholar, and professor. Wolfers earned a Bachelor of Economics from the University of Sydney in 1994 and a Ph.D. in Economics from Harvard University in 2001. Wolfers is renowned for his research in labor economics, macroeconomics, and behavioral economics, focusing on topics like happiness, inequality, unemployment, and economic forecasting. His work often bridges academic research with public discourse, making complex economic concepts accessible.

He is a Professor of Economics and Public Policy at the University of Michigan, with joint appointments at the Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy and the Department of Economics. Before Michigan, he taught at Stanford, Princeton, and the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, where he was an associate professor.
