Julian Phillips Biography

From 2002 until 2006, Julian Phillips was the co-host of Weekend Fox and Friends, America's #1 cable morning news show. Prior to joining Fox and Friends, he worked as an anchor and general assignment correspondent for Fox News Live, a 24-hour cable news network. Julian also hosted Fox News Radio updates and reported on breaking news for the network. Phillips formerly worked as an on-air journalist for WPIX-TV (WB Network, now CW) News at Ten in New York, where he also presented Best Talk, a weekly community and public affairs show. Phillips won the New York State Broadcasters Award for his outstanding performance on the show, in which he interviewed several local and state lawmakers as well as other leaders. Phillips co-hosted numerous live broadcasts while at WPIX, including Macy's annual national coverage of the July 4th fireworks and the Puerto Rican Day Parade with pop singer Lisa Lisa. He also co-hosted the Hispanic Parade with Elizabeth Pena, a film and television actress. Phillips formerly worked for WNBC-TV (NBC) in New York as a reporter covering breaking news and as the manager of community relations. Phillips began his career at ABC Radio Network News as a desk assistant. He has won two Emmy Awards and has been nominated for eight others. He is also a sought-after motivational speaker and recipient of the Edward R. Murrow Award for excellence in journalism. Keynoting the Big Ten Diversity Conference and the Indiana Black Expo Youth Conference are two of his career highlights. During the annual Cherry Blossom Festival in Macon, Georgia, Phillips was even given the key to the city. Julian has served on the Purdue University College of Liberal Arts Advisory Board, the Purdue University Discovery Park External Advisory Board, and the New York Council on Adoptable Children in the past and present.
