John Rooney is an American sports broadcaster best renowned for his work as a play-by-play newscaster for the St. Louis Cardinals of Major League Baseball. Rooney, a resident of Richmond, Missouri, came to St. Louis from the Chicago White Sox, where he invested eighteen years (1988-2005) – one in TV and seventeen in the radio station.
