Currently, Morgan hosts a daily, one-hour general-sports-talk radio program with Sports USA. Morgan has won two sports Emmy awards, in 1998 and 2005, and he has co-authored a number of books on baseball, including Joe Morgan: A Life in Baseball and Baseball for Dummies.

Morgan is currently the Vice-Chairman of the National Baseball Hall of Fame and serves on the Board of Directors of the Jackie Robinson Foundation, a position that he has held since 1997. He is also on the board of Del Monte Foods. Additionally, Morgan is President of the Joe Morgan Youth Foundation, which provides college scholarships and financial support to programs that are instrumental in he development of youth.

On April 21, 2010, it was announced that Morgan was returning to the Reds in the role of “special adviser to baseball operations.” Morgan’s role is to work in both baseball and community outreach for the Reds.
