A board member since 1998, Rodek served as Chairman and CEO of Hyperion from October 1999 to July 2004. Under his leadership, the company experienced a tremendous turnaround, improving performance and achieving record sales. During a period of economic downturn and declining technology market, Rodek also dramatically improved the company’s operating profits, margins and the balance sheet. The final three years were especially noteworthy as a result of the consistent quarterly improvement in numerous measures, including margin and earnings per share. Over the course of his tenure, Hyperion increased customer count by fifty percent.

Hyperion was named in 2004 as a Fortune's 100 Best Companies to Work For and listed on the Forbe's 200 Best Small Companies.

Rodek’s focus on the transforming power of business information began 25 years ago at FedEx, where he built a flexible budgeting system that was one of the first Executive Information Systems and a forerunner to the “dashboards” that are the face of Hyperion’s Business Performance Management solutions.  Today, Rodek is a recognized expert and speaker on business performance and related topics, including corporate governance and leadership. He has been quoted in the Wall Street Journal, BusinessWeek and Forbes, and in numerous technology trade publications, and is a member of the World Economic Forum. Rodek has spoken on topics including leadership, corporate performance and corporate governance at venues including the Fortune Boardroom Forum, BusinessWeek’s CEO Leadership Forum, the Commonwealth Club of California, and at universities and business schools including Wharton, Stanford, the University of Chicago and The Ohio State University.

Prior to Hyperion, Rodek served as President and COO of Ingram Micro, the world’s largest wholesale provider of technology solutions, products and services. Before that, Rodek spent 16 years at FedEx, beginning in Operations Research and rising to the position of Senior Vice President, the Americas.

Rodek holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and an M.B.A. in Finance from The Ohio State University. He serves on the board of NewRoads, a leading provider of outsourced business operations solutions to companies engaged in multi-channel, one-to-one direct commerce. He also serves on The Ohio State University Alumni Association Board and the Dean’s Advisory Board, Fisher College of Business, The Ohio State University. He and his wife are also members of the ParentAdvisory Council for the McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University.
