Flogging Molly is a seven-piece Irish-American Celtic punk band that formed in Los Angeles California and is currently signed to SideOneDummy Records.
Flogging Molly made its debut with the 1997 live album “Alive Behind the Green Door.” The album featured two cover songs “What's Made Milwaukee Famous (Has Made a Loser Out of Me)” and “De (That's All Right) Lilah” which is a combination of “Delilah” by Tom Jones and “That's All Right (Mama)” by Elvis Presley.
In 2000 they released their first studio album “Swagger” that featured songs from their live album “Every Dog Has Its Day” “Selfish Man” and “Black Friday Rule.”
They released the album “Drunken Lullabies” in 2002 and reached #104 on the Billboard 200 Albums chart and #8 on the Independent Albums chart. The album was certified gold by the RIAA.
“Within a Mile of Home” followed in 2004 and reached #20 on the Billboard 200 and #1 on the Independent Albums chart. The album was dedicated to Joe Strummer and Johnny Cash as indicated in the album's liner notes. “The Seven Deadly Sins” is a tribute to Strummer while “Don't Let Me Die Still Wondering” was written as a tribute to Cash.
