He currently teaches at UCLA but taught previously at the American Jewish University in Los Angeles, Hunter College and the Jewish Theological Seminary of America in New York. In 2003, Forward named Rabbi Wolpe as one of the hundred most influential Jews in America and in 2007, Newsweek named him one of the fifty most important Rabbis in America. He’s the author of seven published books which includes Making Loss Matter: Creating Meaning in Difficult Times which was a national bestseller.
