Bruce Coslet Biography

Bruce Coslet is a former professional football player and an American football coach. From 1990 to 1993, Coslet was the head coach of the New York Jets, and from 1996 to 2000, he was the head coach of the Cincinnati Bengals. His entire NFL coaching record is 47 victories and 77 defeats. His sole postseason appearance as a coach occurred in 1991 when the Jets fell in the AFC Wildcard game against the Houston Oilers. Coslet was the offensive coordinator for the Cincinnati Bengals before becoming the head coach of the New York Jets in 1990. Coslet returned to the Bengals as the offensive coordinator after being fired by the Jets in 1993. When head coach David Shula was ousted in 1996, Coslet was appointed to head coach, a position he held until the third week of the 2000 season, when he resigned. Under Head Coach Dave Campo, Coslet was appointed as the offensive coordinator of the Dallas Cowboys in 2002. Coslet was sacked after Campo was fired and Bill Parcells was hired.
