Manny Scott Biography

Manny Scott’s amazing journey to finding out who is was partially chronicled in the 2007 movie, Freedom Writers.  Since then, Scott tells his personal story to over 100 groups a year.  Scott’s father was in jail and he often skipped school as a youngster, which put him at risk of walking down the wrong path.  He walked away from school when he was 14 and traveled from house to house.  One day a talk with a stranger sent him back to school ready to be a different person and the rest was history.  Scott founded Ink International in 2007, which works to prevent suicide, raise student achievement, and aids in teacher effectiveness.  He is also the author of two books, a father of three, and a doctoral student.
