Blair Christie Biography

Blair Christie is Cisco's Senior Vice President of Corporate Communications, overseeing the company's worldwide investor relations, public and media relations, industry analyst relations, employee and executive communications, as well as the company's global studio and Web 2.0/Intranet Strategy teams. She also serves as an executive sponsor for Cisco's Communication and Collaboration Board, a cross-functional group tasked with directing the implementation and usage of Web 2.0 technologies across the company. Cisco's Corporate Communications group was formed in 2006 under Christie's direction, bringing together communications operations from throughout the company. She has since transformed Cisco into an industry leader, receiving the “Silver Quill Excellence Award” from the International Association of Business Communicators for Cisco's Virtual Company Meeting in 2008, as well as four “Inspire Awards” for Employee Communications from the League of American Communications Professionals. Christie formerly managed Cisco's worldwide investor relations team, and Treasury Risk and Management named her one of "The Top 40 Under 40" U.S. financial professionals to watch in 2005. For the fifth year in a row, Institutional Investor has named Cisco as having the best IR team in the communications equipment market, thanks to Christie's leadership. In 2004, Investor Relations magazine and Barron's named Cisco's IR team "Best Overall Investor Relations Program," "Best Investor Relations by a CEO," and "Best Senior Management Communications." In 2007, Investor Relations magazine and Barron's named Cisco's IR team "Best Overall Investor Relations Program," "Best Investor Relations by a CEO," and "Best Senior Management Communications." Christie worked at InterDigital Communications Corporation and Aqua America before joining Cisco, where she was in charge of investor relations, as well as government/public affairs and corporate giving. Christie is an executive sponsor of the San Jose Women's Action Network and serves on the Women's Advisory Group Board and the EcoBoard at Cisco. She is a member of the Arthur Page Society and a board member of the National Investor Relations Institute. Christie graduated from Drexel University with a B.S. in marketing and business administration and an MBA with a concentration in investment management.
