Henry Paul (guitar, mandolin, and vocals) and Dave Robbins (guitar, mandolin, and vocals) form the multi-platinum-selling country duo BlackHawk (keyboards and vocals). With their breakthrough single, Goodbye Says It All, they and third founding member Van Stephenson burst onto the country music scene in 1993. They continue to carve out their own place in music history, with a dozen top 10 songs, including two No. 1s, and album sales over 7 million copies. Van was diagnosed with melanoma, a severe form of skin cancer, in 1999, and his life was cut short. Van lost his battle in 2001 after a long and valiant fight. Henry and Dave have subsequently carried out Henry's dying request for BlackHawk to continue making wonderful music while also attempting to discover a cure. In his honor, they created the Van Stephenson Memorial Cancer Research Fund, with revenues going to the Vanderbilt Cancer Research Center. They're still writing and recording new songs, and they're still spreading BlackHawk's distinctive musical message with their great band. What they perform has a genuineness and freshness about it that appeals to people all around the world.
