Bill Pidto Biography

Bill Pidto is an ESPN journalist who has been with the company since 1996. ESPNEWS is where he is most frequently seen. Bill graduated from Cornell University in 1987. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in psychology and went on to work for WVBR, a radio station in Ithaca, New York, as a sports anchor and reporter. He then worked as the Sports Director at WBNG-TV in Binghamton, New York, for the next two years. He departed WBNG in 1989 to work as a sports anchor for WSTM-TV in Syracuse. He only stayed at this station for a year before joining the Sports News Network in 1990. He got his start at ESPN as a field producer for Scholastic Sports America, a show that is no longer on the air. He accomplished this for two years, as well as working for New England Cable News as a sports anchor in 1992. Pidto was selected to lead SportsSmash when ESPN2 began in 1993, and he later presented NHL 2Night when it debuted in 1995. Pidto also joined NFL Primetime that year. He has also worked as an anchor for Baseball Tonight throughout his time at ESPN. Pidto has spent a lot of time anchoring at ESPNews in recent years, as well as managing certain news updates during ESPN's live programming. Bill is commonly referred to as "The Judge." Pidto, according to fellow anchor Karl Ravech of Men's Fitness, is a particularly untalented athlete.
