Bill McComb Biography

Mr. William L. McComb, also known as Bill, served as the Chief Executive Officer of Fifth & Pacific Companies, Inc. from November 6, 2006 to February 25, 2014. Mr. McComb served as the Chief Executive Officer at FNP Holdings, LLC. Mr. McComb has leadership skills, creative abilities and global brand management expertise. He worked for New Brunswick, N.J.-based Johnson & Johnson for 14 years, as Group Chairman for Orthopedics and Neurologics since 2005. Mr. McComb served as President of McNeil Consumer and Specialty Pharmaceuticals of Johnson & Johnson. At Johnson & Johnson, he led the turnaround of Tylenol pain reliever, which had lost market share in competition with generic drugs. He helped expand the brand through new products and new advertising, fortifying ties with retailers such as Walgreen Co., CVS Corp., Wal-Mart Stores Inc., Target Corp. and Costco Wholesale Corp. At Johnson & Johnson, he oversaw some of largest consumer product businesses and brands, including Tylenol, Motrin, and Clean & Clear. He led the team that repositioned and restored growth to the Tylenol brand and oversaw the growth of Johnson & Johnson s McNeil Consumer business with key brand licenses such as St. Joseph aspirin, where he implemented a strategy to grow the brand beyond the over-the-counter market by adding pediatric prescription drugs. His prior experience at Johnson & Johnson in the areas of consumer products and brand marketing, as well as his direct operation of international businesses, provides important insights to the Board in the area of brand management and marketing. He spent three years at ad agency Leo Burnett until 1992 where he ran the skin and beauty division with such products as Noxema before he joined Johnson & Johnson. He served as Chairman of the Board of Johnson & Johnson. Mr. McComb served as an Executive Director of Fifth & Pacific Companies, Inc. from November 6, 2006 to February 25, 2014. He serves as a Director of American Apparel & Footwear Association and the National Retail Federation. He serves on the board of INROADS of Philadelphia. He serves as Trustee of The Pennington School. He is a member of Kilts Center for Marketing's steering committee at The University of Chicago Booth School of Business. He is a member of the Business Roundtable. Mr. McComb has an undergraduate degree from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, and a master's degree in business administration from the University of Chicago.
