Bill Hader Biography

Originally from Tulsa, Oklahoma, Bill Hader, is best-known for being a comedian and former Saturday Night Live cast member. Hader and his comedic skills eventually led him to the Los Angeles chapter of the famed comedy troupe, Second City. Since the 1970’s, this comedy troupe has been known to be a training ground for many SNL cast members. While at Second City, Hader worked as a production assistant on the DVD Empire of Dreams: The Story of the Star Wars Trilogy, Collateral Damage, and on VH1’s The Surreal Life. Before working on SNL, Hader was most known for his work on MTV’s Punk’d as a field agent. During his time working with the Los Angeles-Based comedy troupe, Animals From the Future, Hader was discovered by Megan Mullally of Will & Grace. Hader was then brought to the attention of SNL producer, Lorne Michaels by Mullally. On October 1, 2005, Hader was hired as a featured player and made his debut on the show. He then become known for his impersonations of celebrities including: Al Pacino, Eliot Spitzer, Charlie Sheen, and Julian Assange during his time on SNL. Stefon Weekend Update’s flamboyant New York City Correspondent is arguably his most famous original character. Hader’s style and talent have been compared to that of Dan Aykroyd and Andy Kaufman.
