Director of Technology for Casady School in Oklahoma City Dr. Wesley Fryer has been announced as the keynote speaker for The Ohio Educational Technology Conference on February 13, 2018. Everything will kick off at 4 p.m. and Dr. Fryer is expected to give a talk about how people these days effectively use digital technology to communicate, tell stories, create media projects and develop STEM coding skills. Fryer will also share more exciting information on the digital world that he has learned through his job and learning path to the point he is at now.
Dr. Fryer was selected as a 2014 PBS LearningMedia Digital Innovator and taught 4th and 5th grade STEM courses at Independence Elementary in Yukon Public Schools in Oklahoma. After getting his Ph. D. in Curriculum and Instruction from Texas Tech University in 2011, he went on to author several books on effectively using digital technologies to communicate and assess learning. He is well known for his “Mapping Media to the Curriculum” book series and digital literacy framework which has helped many students focus on learning to “show what they know” with media and create digital portfolios. In addition to that, Fryer has also served on the education committee of the Oklahoma Creativity Project and his background also includes being a campus technology integration specialist and a state director for education advocacy for AT&T.
Dr. Fryer is scheduled to be the keynote speaker this coming February for the Ohio Educational Technology Conference that’s kicking off at 4 p.m. on the 13th of the month. It will be a fun and informational event, so people should mark it on their calendars as soon as possible.
