Peter Sagal is an American humorist, playwright, author, and radio host. He attended Harvard University, where he wrote for The Harvard Lampoon, and graduated magna cum laude in 1987 with a degree in English and American literature. After college, he worked briefly for a Chicago consulting firm before devoting himself to writing and comedy full-time. Sagal is best known as the host of the National Public Radio (NPR) show Wait Wait... Don't Tell Me!, a weekly news quiz program. He has been the host since 1998 and has won several awards for his work on the show, including the Peabody Award in 2008. He has also frequently contributed to various NPR programs, including All Things Considered and Morning Edition. Aside from his work on NPR, Sagal is a prolific writer. He has written several plays, including Denial, produced in Chicago in 1998 and later off-Broadway in 2006. He is also the author of three books: The Book of Vice, which explores the history of vice and bad behavior throughout human history; The Incomplete Book of Running, which chronicles his experiences as a runner and the science behind the sport; and Constitution USA: A 25-Part Series with Peter Sagal, which accompanied a PBS series he hosted exploring the U.S. Constitution. In addition to his writing and radio work, Sagal has made numerous television appearances, including on HBO's Veep, CBS's The Good Fight, and NBC's Parks and Recreation.
