She is one of just a few women in the U.s. to get the National Speakers Association's CSP (Certified Speaking Professional) certification as well as the CPAE (Council of Peers Award of Excellence). Littauer is in high demand for church and corporate groups across the US, Canada, England, Australia, and New Zealand, with all available dates booked at least a year in advance. Littauer is the president of CLASS Speakers, Inc., a worldwide company that trains, promotes, and books speakers, in addition to writing and speaking. Since 1978, when she published her first book, Littauer has published at least once per year, for a total of more than 20. Her work has won several accolades, and many of her books have sold over 100,000 copies, including Personality Plus, which has sold over 500,000 copies. Littauer taught English, speech, and theatre in high school and college before becoming a full-time professional speaker and writer. She earned a bachelor's degree in speech with honors from the University of Massachusetts and went on to teach at the University of Connecticut. Littauer has also created musical comedies professionally, worked as a fashion commentator for R.H. Macy's, and was a founding member of the Long Wharf Theater in New Haven, Connecticut. Florence and Fred Littauer have been married since 1953, and they began full-time ministry together in 1984. Lauren, Marita, and Fred are their three grown children.
