As the lead game analyst for NBC’s Sunday Night Football, Cris Collinsworth is regarded as one of top commentators in sports television. In 2009, Collinsworth replaced the legendary John Madden and now provides color commentary teaming up with Al Michaels. The duo also provided commentary in the broadcast booth for NBC’s coverage of Super Bowl XLVI (2012).

As a result of his excellence behind the microphone, Collinsworth has garnered 14 Sports Emmy Awards for categories including Outstanding Personality, Best Event Analyst (NBC/NFL Network) and Best Studio Analyst (HBO/FOX/NBC).

Prior to joining Michaels in the booth, Collinsworth was the lead studio analyst for NBC’s Sunday Night Footballfrom 2006-2008. In addition to his football responsibilities at NBC, he appeared as a correspondent during NBC’s broadcasts of the 2008 Summer Olympics from Beijing and the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver.

Since 1989, the Cincinnati, OH resident has been part of the award-winning Inside The NFL on both HBO and Showtime, where he is now teamed-up with Phil Simms and James Brown. Collinsworth served as an in-studio analyst for the top-rated studio show FOX NFL Sundayfrom 1998-2002 and for three seasons following that he was part of FOX’s lead broadcast team with Joe Buck and Troy Aikman.

Collinsworth also hosted WLW-AM’s Sports Talkprogram in Cincinnati, OH from 1989-2004.

Prior to his career in sports broadcasting, Collinsworth was a prolific wide receiver for the Cincinnati Bengals for eight seasons. He helped lead the Bengals to two Super Bowls – XVI (1982) and XXIII (1984) – where they were defeated by the San Francisco 49ers on both occasions. Collinsworth was selected to three Pro Bowls from 1981-83 and was named NFL Rookie of the Year in 1981. He ranks fourth on the all-time career reception list with 417 receptions.

The University of Florida product was selected by the Bengals in the 2nd Round of the 1981 NFL Draft after a standout collegiate career where he was named an All-American during his senior year campaign. Following his playing days, Collinsworth received his Law degree from the University of Cincinnati Law School in 1991.

Through his selfless personality and compassionate behavior, Collinsworth can be seen through his creation and support for The Cris Collinsworth ProScan Fund. The Fund’s goal is to enhance the lives of all women by promoting breast cancer awareness and education, provide breast cancer services and to supply unique opportunities for children to enhance their intellectual development.

Collinsworth became the national spokesperson for Western & Southern Financial Group in 2013 and has appeared as the voice of multiple DirecTV commercials. In addition, he previously served as a spokesperson for FedEx. Collinsworth was also the voice EA Sports game Madden NFL for three seasons.

Collinsworth is also a co-owner and contributor to The Experts Network (TXN), an interactive digital sports network consisting of sports analysis along with Phil Simms, Boomer Esiason, Howie Long, Nick Faldo and Cal Ripken, Jr. Launched in April 2011, TXN specializes in the development of digital and original programming, repurposed content and high-end special events. The interactive platform formulates strategic distribution partnerships with online sports networks and serves as the online “destination” sports property.

Along with his wife Holly and four children (Katie, Austin, Ashley and Jack), Collinsworth now resides in Kentucky. Currently Austin is a safety for the Notre Dame Football team and Ashley is on the Harvard Track squad.
