Wendy Suzuki Biography

Professor of Neuroscience and Psychology at the Center for Neural Science at New York University, Dr. Wendy A. Suzuki. At the University of California, Berkeley, she earned her bachelor's degree in physiology and human anatomy in 1987 while working with Prof. Marion C. Diamond, a pioneer in the research of brain plasticity. After completing a post-doctoral study at the National Institutes of Health, she went on to receive her Ph.D. in Neuroscience from U.C. San Diego in 1993. In 1998, she accepted a professor position at New York University. She is still very interested in the plasticity of the brain. She is well recognised for her vast research on the brain regions that are important for our capacity to create and preserve new, long-term memories. Her current research has centered on figuring out how aerobic exercise might help people with learning memory and higher cognitive capacities. Wendy is interested about educating people about exercising, teaching, and helping and guiding budding scientists.
