Laurie Santos Biography

Dr. Laurie Santos is a psychologist who specializes in human cognition, its evolutionary roots, and the biases that shape our all-too-human decisions about how to live our lives. She also understands how positive psychology may influence behavior in ways that result in a happy and satisfying existence. Santos, a psychology professor and dean of Yale University's Silliman College, developed the most well-attended course at Yale in more than three centuries. Santos instructs students on behavioral change through positive psychology in the subject Psychology and the Good Life. Santos wants her kids to procrastinate less, be more appreciative, and form stronger social bonds. She thinks that cultivating these virtues will make students happier and more motivated while reducing mental health difficulties on campus.
