Author, lecturer, and seasoned investor in international equity, Vikram Mansharamani attended Harvard University. In addition, Mansharamani is the founder and president of Kelan Advisors, LLC, a strategic advising company that assists customers in analyzing the commercial implications of global trends with a focus on the potential for instability in the economic, political, and social spheres. Humanity and Its Challenges is a course that Dr. Mansharamani offers at the Harvard John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences. He formerly worked as a Lecturer at Yale University's Program on Ethics, Politics, & Economics where he instructed courses on economic inequality, financial bubbles, and corporate ethics. He is also a regular commentator in the financial media. His current research interests include bubbles in both financial and non-financial markets, the unsustainable dynamics of food and fuel, and the relative utility of specialists vs. generalists in negotiating complex uncertainty and risk. He presently has a position on the board of directors of the London-listed closed-end investment vehicle known as the Africa Opportunity Fund. He formerly held positions on the boards of the Association of Yale Alumni, the US-Pakistan Business Council, Interrelate, and ManagedOps. He also served as chairman of the Torit Montessori School in Boston. Mansharamani got a Ph.D. and MS from the Sloan School of Management at MIT, an MS in Political Science from MIT, and a BA from Yale University, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa.
