Vicki Lawrence is a vocalist, comedian, and performer. She performed in performances alongside well-known performers including Carol Burnett, Tim Conway, and Harvey Korman. Vicki's love of singing and dancing began at a young age. She was a team promoter in secondary school, and her group voted her as Most Likely to Succeed. Lawrence sang with the Young Americans choral group from 1965 to 1967 and appeared in the Oscar-winning documentary The Young Americans. Vicki Lawrence started her career as a television personality and comedian by emailing Carol Burnett a news cut-out proving their remarkable resemblance and asking if she could give her advice for a contest she was in called the Miss Fireball Contest in California. Burnett contacted her after finding her phone number. Burnett went to the event prepared to find a talent to play her younger sister in her theatrical production. Indeed, Burnett chose Lawrence to be the younger sister, and from that point on, her career began to soar. She debuted on the main stage of The Carol Burnett Show in the fall of 1967. She spent 11 years on the program, during which time she earned one Emmy Award and five more distinctions. She chose UCLA in 1967 to consider theatrical expressions. She traveled to Vietnam with Johnny Grant to perform for American soldiers in order to advance her singing career.
