He is well-known for being the host of Comedy Central's American satirical news show The Daily Show. Noah started working as a comedian, presenter, and actor in his home country of South Africa in 2002. He was born in Johannesburg. He has a number of television presenting positions with the South African Broadcasting Corporation and finished second in their Strictly Come Dancing the fourth season in 2008. Noah founded and hosted the M-Net and DStv program Tonight with Trevor Noah from 2010 to 2011. His stand-up comedy career reached global recognition, which led to appearances on British panel programs and American late-night talk shows. The Daily Show's Senior International Correspondent since 2014, Noah took over for longtime host Jon Stewart in 2015 and will hold the job through 2022. Born a Crime, Noah's autobiographical comedy book was released in 2016 to rave reviews. The Hollywood Reporter listed Noah as one of "The 35 Most Powerful People in New York Media" in both 2017 and 2018. He was included among the top 100 important persons in the world by Time magazine in 2018.
