Tim Leberecht Biography

The initiator of The Business Romantic Society is Tim Leberecht. He is the author of "The Business Romantic" (HarperCollins, January 2015) and the former chief marketing officer of NBBJ, an international design, and architecture company that assists companies like Amazon, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Boeing, Google, Samsung, Starbucks, and Tencent in developing meaningful experiences. Prior to this, he served as the chief marketing officer of software engineering company Aricent Group and product design and strategy firm Frog Design, both of which were recognized for their work with Apple and other Fortune 500 companies. Publications including Harvard Business Review, Fast Company, Forbes, Fortune, and Wired have published his articles. In addition to TEDGlobal, The Economist Big Rethink, DLD, Remix, and the Silicon Valley CEO Summit, he has also presented at other events. Nearly a million people have watched his TED Talk, "3 Ways to (Usefully) Lose Control of Your Brand," so far. Leberecht is a member of The Human Agency, a group of social change-makers, and the co-founder of the 15 Toasts dinner series. He is on the board of Jump Associates, a strategy and innovation consulting firm, as well as the Global Agenda Council on Values of the World Economic Forum. He was born and reared in Germany, and now he and his family reside in San Francisco.
