Tim Dorsey Biography

Tim Dorsey, who was born in Indiana and migrated to Florida at the age of 1, grew up in Riviera Beach, a little community approximately an hour north of Miami. In 1983, he earned his degree from Auburn University. He served as The Plainsman's editor while a student at Auburn. He worked as a police and court reporter for The Alabama Journal, a now-defunct nightly publication in Montgomery, from 1983 until 1987. He started working as a general assignment reporter for The Tampa Tribune in 1987. He previously held positions as a copy desk editor and a political writer for the Tribune's Tallahassee office. He served as the Tribune's night metro editor from 1994 until 1999. In August 1999, he quit the publication to devote himself to writing. Since then, Tim has released 19 novels in various languages: Florida Roadkill Hotel Hammerhead Ranch Citrus Crush Twist the triggerfish Stingray Shuffle Caddy's Beach trident juice Atomic Lobster The Big Bamboo Hurricane Punch Atomic Jellyfish Barracuda Gator A-Go-Go Electric Elves Attacking a pineapple bomb The Ultra-Glide Riptide Coconut Cowboy, Shark Skin Suite, and Tiger Shrimp Tango. Clownfish Blues, his nineteenth book, was published in January 2017.
