Actress Tichina Arnold, who was born in New York in 1971, became well-known for playing Pam James alongside Martin Lawrence in the comedy Martin. Following Martin Arnold's appearances as a guest on Soul Food and The Jaime Foxx Show. She was cast as the nasty mother of three Rochelle in the Everybody Hates Chris series in 2005. She also owned China Moon Rags, a business that produced bandanas with jewels. Arnold started performing at a young age and attended Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music, Art, and Performing Arts in New York City. She made her New York film debut in Little Shop of Horrors in 1986 when she was still in her teens. She then worked on Ryan's Hope (1987–89) and All My Children, two soap operas (1989-90). When Arnold transitioned to primetime in 1992, he was cast in a supporting part on the comedy Martin, which served as Martin Lawrence's stage. On the episode, she portrayed Pam James, a friend of Tisha Campbell's Gina Waters, who was dated by Lawrence's radio talk show presenter Martin Payne. Five seasons of the program were produced.
