Stanley Hainsworth Biography

Stanley Hainsworth grew up in a little community near Possum Trot and Monkey's Eyebrow in Western Kentucky. After pursuing an acting profession for a few years, he decided to put all he'd learned to a new craft design. He worked as a Creative Director at Nike for several years, working on everything from hangtags to annual reports to the Olympics, before moving to Denmark to join the Lego Company as Global Creative Director. He oversaw a complete visual redesign of the Lego brand, encompassing packaging, the online, retail, and brand shops. When Stanley came to the United States, he felt it would be fascinating to work for a firm named after the first mate in "Moby Dick." He introduced his creative abilities to our staff at Starbucks. Stanley chose to create his own creative firm after nearly two decades of working for three fantastic brands: Nike, Lego, and Starbucks. The name above the main door is Tether. When you go through the front door, you'll find the Tether creative gallery, which sells Tether-designed products as well as intriguing, curated products and artwork. Tether creatives are hard at work amid and above the gallery space, as part of the full-service Tether agency branding, advertising, retail, digital, goods, entertainment, and packaging. Prior to Tether, Stanley was in charge of the creative parts of Starbucks Coffee Company and its connected brands such as Hear Music, Tazo Tea, and Ethos Water. He and his team of designers, illustrators, web designers, writers, and program managers were continuously challenged to create unexpected, brand-enhancing methods to interact with customers. Stanley's creative input and responsibilities extended to the appearance of new items, packaging systems, seasonal promotions (in-store and out-of-store materials), brand campaigns, and collateral materials. His artistic influence visibly impacted our customers, and he aims to convey the sensation people have while drinking Starbucks coffee. Stanley holds a bachelor's degree in theatre and movies. He is a former AIGA (American Institute of Graphic Arts) board member, a featured speaker on Brand Design around the world, and the winner of awards from ID Magazine, Communication Arts, The Library of Congress, Graphis, Type Directors Club, HOW International, HOW Regional, NW Design Awards, PRINT International, AIGA National, AIGA Regional, Rosie, POP Times, and Communication Arts Illustration, Retail Interiors (Best International Store and Best Retail Theater), and MAPIC (Best Retail Store). Stanley is a singer/songwriter, author, actor (film, television, and stage in Los Angeles, New York City, and regional theaters), director, and producer. He co-founded and directed the Rita Hayworth Theatre in Los Angeles, and he was also the creator and producer of BOOM Productions in New York City. Stanley is proficient in Spanish and has a working knowledge of Danish. In his leisure time, he enjoys cycling, marathon running, and spending time with his wife and five lovely children.
