Sigrid Nunez Biography

Sigrid Nunez is the author of seven books, including A Feather on God's Breath. Salvation City, The Last of Her Kind, and, most recently, The Friend. She is also the author of Sempre Susan: Susan Sontag's Memoir. The New York Times is one of the publications to which she has contributed. The Washington Post Threepenny Review of the Paris Review Harper McSweeney is an American author. The Believer and Tin House. Her writing has also appeared in four Pushcart Prize collections and four anthologies of Asian-American literature. Sigrid has received a Whiting Writer Award, a Berlin Prize Fellowship, and two American Academy of Arts and Letters awards: the Rosenthal Foundation Award and the Rome Prize in Literature. She has taught at Columbia, Princeton, Boston University, and the New School, as well as being a visiting writer or writer in residence at Amherst Smith, Baruch College, Vassar, and the University of California, Irvine. She will be a visiting writer at Syracuse University in the spring of 2019. Sigrid has also taught at the Bread Loaf Writers Conference and various other writers conferences throughout the country.
