Shaye Lynne Haver, along with Kristen Griest, was one of the two first women to graduate from the US Army Ranger School on August 21, 2015. Haver and Griest were named 34th on Fortune's list of the World's Greatest Leaders in 2016. Haver is a native of Copperas Cove, Texas. She graduated from high school in Texas in 2008, where she participated in cross country and soccer. In 2012, Haver graduated from the United States Military Academy. Haver followed in her father's footsteps and became an attack helicopter pilot. Her father was also a professional Army aviator who flew Apache helicopters. Haver works in an aviation brigade as an Apache Attack Helicopter pilot. She was one of the two first women, along with Kristen Marie Griest, to graduate from the US Army Ranger School on August 21, 2015. Haver was one of 20 women chosen to attend the first gender-integrated Ranger School, which began on April 20, 2015. Haver was granted and permitted to wear the Ranger Tab after receiving a certificate of accomplishment. Ranger School is a 61-day combat leadership training focused on small-unit tactics. It has been described as the Army's most physically and psychologically rigorous leadership school.
