American activist, writer, and speaker Sarah is. She spent her formative years as a devout Shia Muslim. However, she started reading the Quran critically in her late teens, and shortly after, she stopped practicing religion.
She co-founded Ex-Muslims of North America in 2013, a group that fights to recognize religious dissent and establishes local support networks for those who have converted to other faiths. Sarah is very enthusiastic about women's rights, civil freedoms, and atheism.
