Sara Panton Biography

In her first year of medical school, Sara began her entrepreneurial career by working late into the night to develop an idea for a company that would enable customers to incorporate the benefits and science of smell into every aspect of their daily lives. Sara developed a line of essential oil products using her knowledge of indigenous botanicals from her years of work with the Nobel Peace Prize-nominated organization We.org and her degree in global health. She also designed them with her passion for design. During her second year of medical school, she and her brother Sean Panton founded the premium essential oil firm Vitruvian. As the company saw rapid development, she dropped out of medical school to focus on the business full-time. Charles Chang, the co-founder of Vega, and Vitruvi teamed up in the summer of 2016. Sara currently oversees the expansion of the Vitruvian brand on a worldwide scale. In addition, she is a consultant for businesses operating globally in the socially conscious fashion, cosmetics, and technology sectors. Sara continues to be passionate about giving back to the world; she is a board member of UNICEF Innovation, a member of the SFU Chang Innovation Centre's advisory board, a member of the United Nations Women's Entrepreneurship group, and a supporter of the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics.
