Priya Lakhani is a British entrepreneur, educator, and innovator, recognized for her work in artificial intelligence (AI) and education. Born to East African Indian parents, she began her career as a barrister specializing in defamation law but left in 2008 to launch Masala Masala, a fresh Indian cooking sauce brand. Its “one-for-one” model donated meals and vaccinations to underprivileged communities in India and Africa, funding millions of meals and thousands of vaccinations. In 2013, she founded CENTURY Tech, an AI-powered education platform that personalizes learning for students and reduces teacher workloads, now used in over 60 countries. A co-founder of the Institute for Ethical AI in Education, Lakhani advises the UK government, serving on the AI Council and the Prime Minister’s Council of Science and Technology. She authored “Inadequate: The System Failing Our Teachers and Your Children” (2020) and received an OBE in 2014.
