Peniel E. Joseph is a renowned historian and academic who teaches history at Tufts University.

He has written several highly regarded books with an emphasis on Black Power and the African American experience, such as "Waiting 'Til the Midnight Hour: A Narrative History of Black Power in America," "Dark Days, Bright Nights: From Black Power to Barack Obama," and "Stokely: A Life."
